James Cogan
James Cogan is a new media entrepreneur with a proven 10-year track record of building highly successful online businesses and delivering measurable results to some of Canada’s top brands.
James combines high-level creative and strategic thinking with diverse hands-on experience and a thirst for new challenges. This unique perspective allows him to see the big picture while building strong relationships with stakeholders at all levels of an organization, from CEOs to marketing managers to web coding teams. He’s developed creative and branding strategy for small-to-medium enterprises right up to Fortune 500 companies – including Mercedes Benz Canada, Blenz Coffee and Sotheby’s International Realty – and has consulted for Google and AskJeeves (now Ask.com).
James was a Producer of the Year finalist at the 2007 Canadian New Media Awards, and has appeared in radio and newspaper interviews as a new media and blogging expert. A blogger since 2001, James currently writes about life, media, and entrepreneurship on his personal blog at JamesCogan.com. His latest venture is the dailypixel.ca Network, a fast-growing Canadian new media network spanning over 50 web sites that reach over a million visitors every month.
When he’s not strategizing his next business move, James indulges in his love for fantasy sports, golf and surfing the net uncontrollably. James lives in Ottawa with his wife and two sons.
