Update: Real-Time Flight Tracking on Airport.ca

A few weeks ago my Mom mentioned that she routinely visits Airport.ca when checking on a flight's status. When she told me this, I gave her a puzzling head-tilt and subsequently asked her why she would bother to do this considering Airport.ca did not offer any form of flight tracking on the website. She then gave me a response that every mother would give her enterprising son, but I'll admit that I didn't see it coming. She says "because a hit is a hit, don't you want my traffic?" Ha. She then explains that all of the links to airports and airlines located in Airport.ca's sidebar would help her get to the specific airline's website where she would then be able to check the status of a given flight. I chuckled, gave her a big hug and then vowed to make this convoluted process easier for her and for all Dailypixel visitors.

So without further adieu, we would like to announce the launch of real-time flight tracking functionality on flights.airport.ca. You can track any flight arriving or departing in North America. Want to check all arrivals to Toronto Pearson? No problem. You can track individual flights too and it will give you all kinds of wonderful information ie, estimated arrival time, remaining flight time, current altitude and speed, and graphically show you the flight's current location on a map!
